TinyBuild, the development team behind SpeedRunners, consists of Alex Nichiporchik (CEO), Luke Burtis (Production Director), and Tom Brien (Creative Director). Their company all started with an idea. That idea: “No time to explain”, actually became one of the first Greenlit projects on steam! they went through a hard path to get there. Their Kickstarter was extremely successful, they even got funding from a Russian Publisher to release the game in Russian as well as their other planned countries! Though things went down a dark path when the Russian company, Buka Entertainment, decided to just not pay. These were really hard times for a company that you have seen all these awesome games from, TinyBuild was eventually forced to release “No time to Explain” in 2 parts because of funding issues. Things did get better when Steam Greenlight came out, as TinyBuild was able to release the title on that. A little later the idea of Speed Runners sprang up, and they said, “Why not use No time to Explain, to make Speed Runners a better game?” And so, while the founding team worked on marketing, their developers worked on the actual game, dividing up the work to make the game a true success. Oh and a success it was! August 2013 they were able to release the game on Steam Early Access. By September the game has already sold $1 million in sales! Amazing! It really shows that even a company that has had a really hard past has been able to pull it together and make a game that just soo many people play and is received so lovingly by the community!
